Heading out

I just wanted to drop a line to say I was heading out of town again.  I enjoyed riding with Bob Bruno several times, and serendipitously running in to Jason on the road once.  I really hope you all continue to be active on the roads and trails,  as well as on the blog. 

I will be heading to Iraq in several weeks and will definitely post about what the riding is like there :)  Remember me if you are going to be in the Williamsburg/Newport News VA area.  Take care.

Ride on Sunday with Steel Valley Tri-Club

Hello Fellow Cyclists,

 

I have not posted for a while but I am glad to see the blogsite active again.  The Steel Valley Tri Club is visiting our area on Sunday, July 29th,  for an open water swim at Shenango Lake followed by a ride to Mercer 258 and back Lamor.  We are meeting at my house (1473 Hofius lane, Hermitage)  at 7:45 for a ride to the lake (6 miles) to the West Lake propagation area .  (846 right onto West Lake and  gravel parking lot is 1 mile on the right) The swim should take us to 9:00 when we will head out to Mercer and back to my house.  You are welcomed to join  us for all or some of the ride ( 32 miles in all).  If you would like to kayak instead of getting your feet wet that would be great also (we are looking for kayakers who would like to assist us).    Feel free to email me with questions at amyjavens@verizon.net.

 

We are looking to start a western pa chapter of the Steel Valley Tri club.  Again, if interested please contact me.

Weekday rides

I will be riding from New Wilmington to the Mel Grata dealership on State St in Hermitage most evenings this week.  I will leave New Wilmington at around 4:30 and arrive at Mel Grata to meet Bob Bruno at 5pm.  We will likely get in thirty or so from the dealership on our way back to New Wilmington.  Join us if you can.

Saturday morning ride

I will be leaving from Mugsies at 8am on Saturday morning the 14th.  I plan on doing 40-50miles in the Amish country between New Wilmington, Mercer and New Castle.  I would love to have some company.  T-Storms cancel.

July riding...calling all...or any...riders!

All, 

I rode with some of you all last summer before I moved to VA.  I will be riding from New Wilmington the next three weeks and would love some company.  I plan on doing 30ish mi routes on weekday mornings and more like 50 on the weekends...longer if people feel motivated.  I will post each day about my plans for the next day or so.  I live right down the street from Mugsies, so I will swing by there to see if anyone else is game.  It's a great place to get your morning java and hang out after the ride.  I will check the post each morning.  I hope some of you will join me!  My cell is 757-272-7869 if you want to contact me that way.  My first ride details are below.  See you on the road!

Monday 9 July:  Leave Mugsies at 8am and ride 30-40.

P.S.  For anyone who doesn't know where Mugsies is...it's right in the middle of New Wilmington on Market St.  Parking behind the building.
