HATE TO DO THIS, BUT...

As I type, the newly installed storm warning on Snyder hill is blaring news of the Thunderstorm, and as much as I hate to cancel what may have very well been the best ride of the year, I'm going to pull the plug on this one folks. I've gotten a few "I'm outs" from fellow riders, and even our ride leader Jason 'Harmless' Harmer has posted satellite images of tonights forcast -- and it doesn't look good. On top of the thunder and lightning there is also a call for 3/4" hail, which would be ok if we were not riding at 15-20 miles an hour (off the hill of course). And even though -- with the way weather forecasting has been going lately-- it may very well be sunny and 75 come 6PM,
it is with a sad heart that I am officially POSTPONING (that's right, postponing not cancelling -- you don't think i'd let you all off that easy) this awesome ride till next Thursday.

Painstakingly yours,

I was starting to doubt myself there for a minute at 6pm when the sun started to peak out and the rain stopped -- but only for a minute.

Thanks for the support PB

I have to believe I did the right thing and hope noone showed.

you did do the right thing big dog...we can't expect to be perfect all the time. I to doubted the call, however when the rain became horizontal, i did not. I was really looking forward to that ride, and am still going to look forward to that ride. Just want to let anyone know that if you are jones'in for a ride, and the weather permits, i am going to ride hills for about an hour and a half to two hours tonite. That is weather permitting, and weather permitting. If anyone is interested in hills tonight email me at j_harmer@hotmail.com

if not I will see you (participants) on sunday, and maybe some mtn bikers sat am. in kennerdell. Have fun !!!
