While we are training / racing this summer, biking, tri's, running, you name it, someone is doing it, and I do realize that this is a bike blog, I'd like to toss out a very challenging, interesting, fun activity as a change up for a day. See below:

Rock Climbing
Imagine the feeling of using your own two hands and feet to pull yourself up the side of a cliff. Rock climbing is becoming a popular outdoor sport; it’s great for strength and confidence building. After a short hike over easy terrain, we will learn about equipment, safety, how to belay, and some of the necessary knots. Afterwards, we’ll do some climbing and hopefully get in some rappelling! A variety of climbs will be set up so that even inexperienced participants (or even those who are afraid of heights) can experience success. In this one-day class, all instruction and equipment is provided for you, including the climbing shoes. Please dress in nonrestrictive pants such as sweats, Lycra or climbing pants, bring plenty of water and pack a lunch. More information will be provided upon registration. This is a beginner’s class and no experience is necessary.
Location: McConnell's Mill State Park
Time: 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Cost: $45.00 member/$55.00 non-member
Organization: Venture Outdoors
I'm going and so is is Mark Bianco. If you never have tried climbing, it's a great workout.
