2-Wheel'd Freakz Represent at Month of Mud

Ryan Gotch, Dave Hornak, Andrew Brown and myself participated in the 2nd of five races in this series. Grove City served up a muddy, cycle-cross course done in laps. Despite the mud and water soaked fields, there were opportunities to go for speed (on the road and otherwise), and no opportunity to let your heart-rate drop.

Ryan continues to do very well in the challenging single-speed division. Andrew did well as a newcomer to mountain biking, despite finishing with a flat tire. He aspires to participate in more of this series. Dave rode very respectively. By the way, Thank you, Dave, for allowing me into the transitions ahead of you in lap 3 and for your encouragement!! I'm trying to hold my own in the women's division. Month of Mud always attracts some good talent.

Speaking of good talent, why isn't Harmer racing? He is the fastest 2-Wheel'd Freak, after all. We should all put some pressure on him. Jason Diurba is waiting for a bad ankle to heal. I hear bull riding can be brutal.

You all can check out the remaining schedule and results at www.gorocket.net. Click on the bike apparel photo, then MBRAWP. That said, see you all at Brady's. Expect more single-track, sprinkled with some climbs and just a bit of technical challenge.

Congrats' to all of you. I am very impressed by all and your performance. Ryan is definitely tapping in to the immense amount of strength that he possesses for and in this arena. Paula I know that you want the Number one plate on this one, just be consistent and I know that you will prevail. This is a very tough series, so make sure that you have plenty of rest prior to every event. These girls, I am very sure of, are not at the same caliber of riding that you are. "Why isn't Harmer racing?" Good question, I got that alot yesterday. Unfortunately I punked myself out and said that it was my spirit, it really was. Yesterday was enough for me to realize that I am not doing what I should be. I will be back for the next one, I promise. And if you are able I may try to do the lake loop twice this week, tues and thurs. Let me know, and if anyone else who reads this would like to join, say so.

good luck this week on recovery and preparation for next week.

Harms.

Actually, I'll be happy with top 2. I know Beth is tough. I'll try to hang with her at Brady's. I was awful at the transitions yesterday, getting back on my bike. I need to practice clipping back in faster. It was small mistakes yesterday that added up.

As for you, your fast and good and I don't know why you wouldn't put that all to the test every chance you get.

I want to do the lake loop, but your slow pace and mine are two different things!! Maybe we could do one loop so I know where it is, then you could take off? Right now Diurba has my bike...fixing the brakes, so maybe Thursday.

I'm definately in for a ride on Thursday. Either the lake loop OR some pre-ridin at Brady's?

Maybe we should do a new post instead of hoping people read the comments.
chat later,
