Welcome Back Freakz!!

Well, if you're like me, you're probably itching to come out of this winter's hibernating and get back out onto the hills and highways of Western PA / Eastern OH. I've posted a few 'organized'(you've got to pay a buck or two) rides that are coming up in the next couple of months.

I've promised myself (and warned the fam) that I am going to log a lot more road time than I did last season. If you've vowed the same oath, stay tuned to the blog for up and coming weekly ride times, charity events, races, etc.

PNC Pedal Pittsburgh is the region's premier cycling event celebrating design, health & fitness, and urban lifestyles. This fun, educational bicycle ride draws over 2,000 riders annually, and highlights the neighborhoods and design landmarks that make Pittsburgh unique. A ride, not a race, PNC Pedal Pittsburgh offers a variety of course options ranging from 6- to 60-miles to accommodate everyone from recreational riders to hard-core fitness enthusiasts.

PNC Pedal Pittsburgh 2008 is Sunday, May 18.

Registration for the 2008 Bike MS Ride begins in fall. Join us bright and early Saturday, June 7th at TRACO in Cranberry Twp., PA or Erie, PA to check-in. (Watch for route changes on the Erie to Meadville ride.) Cycling begins at 7:30 am. Enjoy the ride…81 miles on Saturday and then relax and enjoy the evening at Allegheny College in Meadville, PA. Rise and shine early on Sunday morning, eat a hearty breakfast and start cycling…69 miles to the shores of Lake Erie in Conneaut Ohio and a fun, festive finish line

And lastly, for now, a great century ride for Diabetes which Team Courage has rode in for the last three years. . .

Ride with us on June 22, 2008!

100 Mile- Ultimate Challenge (Experienced Cyclists):
This ride follows the same route as the beginning and the ending portions of the 50 Mile Ride, also traveling through Harmony, Zelienople, Ellwood City and McConnell's Mill State Park. When it separates from the 50 Mile Ride, it travels through New Bedford, Pulaski, New Wilmington, Volant and Plain Grove before rejoining the 50 Mile Ride for the final miles to Seneca Valley. It shares some of the same rest stops as the 50 Mile Ride and has a few additional rest stops of its own. It also has several climbs along the route that will challenge the riders and provide a sense of accomplishment when they are crested. There are also many miles of pleasant, scenic, rural roads for the riders to enjoy.

The following rides are also available:

8 Mile - Family Fun Ride & Scenic Tour
20 Mile- Fitness Test
30 Mile- Fitness Test
50 Mile- Training Ride (Intermediate Cyclists)

Post a comment just to let me know you survived the 'thaw' and that you're also gearing up for the 2008 season.
