"Attention Mtn. Bikers"

Its the end of the week and wanted to know if there are any mountain bikers out there that would like to join any rides taking place this weekend? If you are please respond to this blog or email me at j_harmer@hotmail.com I am not sure if anyone else is planning on riding off road sat or sun, but wanted to put this out so that anyone could get out there if they wanted to.

I am planning on riding in Kennerdell both days of the weekend and would like to start around 8 or 9 am. I am only planning to ride there because it is the most feesible at the moment and I haven't heard from anyone on where to go. If you would like to go and have a better place in mind, again blog it or mail me.

Look to hear from someone, hopefully.

See ya...

Jason, Saturday is the Moraine Adventure Dash

http://www.rootsrace.com/Moraine%20Detail.htm

I was planning on entering it but after I talked with Jay last week I decided I better drive down and see what I was getting into. I had a terrible time with the rocks and ended up flattening a tire. I think I am going down there tomorrow as a spectator to see how everyone else manages to get through those sharp rocks. I'd like to try some mountain biking, not sure how my Trek will do. I bought it mostly because I live on a dirt road and the road bike tires don't do well at all on my road.

it is good to hear an interest in mtn biking. i have yet to do an adv. race but hear that they are pretty intense! I do know that Moraine state park takes no remorse on anyone nor their equipment. great place to start and a better place to FINISH. Look forward to hearing about more mtn bike rides that are "everyone" freindly towards the upcoming fall season. I will be sure to post them as they come. Good to hear from you.

I did my FIRST mountain bike ride at Moraine DURING my FIRST adventure race and swore I'd never ride again. Now it's my favorite thing in the world.

Moraine can be a hard training ground, but other trails are more beginner friendly.

If you already have endurance, that's half the battle. If you're patient with yourself in learning some technical skills, you may grow to enjoy it more and more, especially if you love outdoors. There's nothing like riding single track in the forest, across the rocks, and through the water.

Hope to see you on the trails!
