I am sure that everyone is capable of spoiling this news on their own, but I thought that I would beat someone to the punch. Floyd has recaptured the lead and the "Yellow Jersey" once again, on perhaps one of the most crucial and difficult stages of the Tour. The Alp d' Huez has over the last few years (Lance to thank for this), become the definning stage of the tour. We saw Lance pound the competition and gain seconds and minutes over his competitors in the last few years. Upon hearing that the heavy hitters of the tour were being pulled for doping, I thought that this is a great opportunity for Floyd as he spent countless miles in the shadow of Lance on all these great climbing stages. Make no mistake about it, Floyd knows exactly how he needs to ride these hill stages in order to repeat or mimic Lances performances. Hopefully he will be able to gain more time through the remaining hill stages and have the support of his Phonak team to get him a top notch podium finish on the Champs. Note: Axel Mercx, son of the great Eddie Mercx was there atop the Alp d' Huez to assist Floyd in taking the yellow. It looks good for him for now, lets hope all goes well. Yes my Tour interest has been re-sparked.
Tonight would probably be a good night for a viewing of the stage. If anyone is interested, please blog this, or comment on this blog, or bring it up at the ride this evening. There was a chance of a little precipitation today, but looked as though it would be around between 10 and 3 or 4. I haven't seen it yet but am hoping that it wont get pushed into our riding time.
Hope to see as many as possible at the store for the ride this eve.
Have a great day!
Jason

Eddie Mercx -- now there is MY Lance Armstrong. Still (i think) the undisputed greatest cyclists ever!! Think he has more than 500+ wins. Just didn't have the photogenic mug shot that Lance has.
And HEY-- did anyone notcie the little black counter that appeared on the site nearly a week ago. CHECK OUT THE HITS we've gotten since then!!!! This morning I think it was at 300.
Hmm I love the idea behind this website, very unique.
